Escondido is a diverse city with many communities. There is the older section of town, situated near the main street and city center, and many smaller areas surrounding. Small hills and streets that end in dead ends are scattered throughout the city limits. Shopping centers are plentiful and the choices of stores range from big-box department stores to the mom-and-pop corner grocery.
Escondido has great Mexican restaurants. There is a big latino presence. Every summer there is a weekly Friday event That runs from June -August in downtown Escondido known as Cruisin Grand. Escondido is only a 20-minute drive from the beach. You will also enjoy great weather year-round.
