It is the recreational vehicle capital of the world. the economic success in Elkhart, Indiana, is often used by economists as an indicator of the financial health of the country.

Elkhart, Indiana, is the “RV capital of the world,” and “The crossroads of America,” so one might think we have drivable streets. Make sure you have good tires or a Jeep. The potholes here are notoriously bad. This is a good city for raising a family–whether or not you drive!

Elkhart, Indiana, is an exceptional place. Elkhart is the recreational vehicle capital of the world, producing more travel vehicles than any other town on Earth. This industry is extremely profitable and provides many secure jobs to factory workers, middle managers and executives. Elkhart also has a very strong educational system. The schools are safe and prioritize high levels of achievement from students. Elkhart has beautiful parks and fun extracurricular activities such as an annual jazz festival. Most people will find good jobs, good homes, strong schools, and fun activities in Elkhart. It is a wonderful place.
