El Monte is largely made up of a Hispanic and Asian community. It is a smaller city full of good Mexican food, most of your basic conveniences and central to major cities, such as Los Angeles. It is also central to the beach, the mountains and the desert.

If moving to El Monte, California, it is important to note that there are many cultures in this city. While Asian and Hispanic cultures take up the majority of the city, the African American community takes up a good portion of the city. The city has a high rate of crime, so it may not be the best idea to move here with a family.
