When moving to DuPont, WA, one should consider the extreme isolation. The city is surrounded by federal land and the sound. There are no grocery stores in this small town if a person needs something quick. A potential resident needs to also be aware that while Seattle is somewhat close, traffic is always gridlocked. A short trip could take hours.

Dupont is a small city at the south end of Pierce County, Washington. It is positioned between the Nisqually River and Joint Base Lewis-McChord. It was established at the earliest settled place in Washington State, the trading post of Fort Nisqually. Dupont consists of the old portion of town and a larger planned community.
