As Dunedin often experiences four seasons in one day, make sure you never leave the house without a beanie and some sunblock. As it is quite a small city, it is sometimes referred to as the ’15 minute city’; you can drive from one end of the city to the other, in 15 minutes or less.

Dunedin is the Edinburgh of the South. Dunedin is the Celtic word for Edinburgh. We are known for our wildlife and architecture. Dunedin has the only breeding Albatross colony in the world. We are surrounded by beautiful coastline. We also have world class Educational Facilities such as Dunedin Medical School and Otago University.

Dunedin is home to Otago University, the oldest University in New Zealand. Dunedin is best known for its wild student life where students commonly light couches on fire at flat parties. Dunedin is also home to Baldwin Street, the steepest street in the world, as written in the Guinness Book of World Records.
