Dewsbury is a small, not well known town in West Yorkshire. It has a library and a sports centre, both of which are good public commodities. The town hall of Dewsbury has been refurbished at least three times within my lifetime and is the centre of the town. Aside from this, Dewsbury also has a large number of shops and a small outdoor market.
Dewsbury is a rural suburban spread on the outskirts of Leeds. Historically, it was part of the great Northern mill towns of days gone by, put firmly on the map by the Shoddy King, during the industrial revolution. It is a very multicultural area, with a high population of ethnic minority communities living alongside one another.
