The weather is very nice and hurricanes visit sometimes.

Deland is a wonderful place to raise a family. The town is filled with parks and playgrounds, excellent schools, and is within an hour’s drive of two of Florida’s most famous beaches. I recommend visiting the museums in and around Stetson University or heading out to DeLeon Springs for an alligator-free swim.

DeLand is quite near to popular Florida vacation spots such as Disney World, Universal Orlando, and Daytona Beach. It makes a great jumping-off point for visiting these famous attractions, all while living and working in a smaller, less congested part of the state. Plus, DeLand’s historic downtown always presents an opportunity for an entertaining afternoon of shopping and dining.
