My city is one part of a metropolis called the Quad Cities. The four main cities straddle the Mississippi River. There are plenty of a wide variety of activities to engage in, from wine tasting to a tug fest over the actual Mississippi River. There is always something to do in every season. If you are bored, you’re not trying hard enough!

An important thing to know about Davenport, Iowa, is that we are part of the Quad Cities. The Quad Cities is a group of five cities in both Iowa and Illinois. It’s called the Quad Cities because originally there were four cities to make up this metro area, and then a fifth was added later. When moving to Davenport, hop back and forth over the Mississippi River to visit the Illinois side, and stopping into Whitey’s Ice Cream for a shake!

Someone moving to Davenport should know the roads are in poor condition. There is usually construction taking place on high traffic roads for months at a time. One should plan to leave home at least 20 minutes early to arrive to their destination on time.
