In the town of Culver, there is a lake called Lake Maxinkuckee. This lake is fill with fish and is excellent to go fishing in during any season. The fish in the lake range from a few inches to large two foot long fish. It is great for teaching a small kid to fish or even catching the night’s dinner.

An idyllic town if (A) you have a job with the Academy (there aren’t a ton of employers otherwise) and (B) you’re already in a serious relationship with someone in or near town (there’s almost no dating scene). Houses in town are cheap. Houses outside of town are even cheaper. Houses on Lake Max are sometimes 10x those just a block away. The few restaurants in town are excellent but, if you tire of them, Plymouth and South Bend aren’t terribly far away.
