I would want someone moving to Crestline to be aware that one must be prepared for winter weather. A person should carry chains in their car during winter at all times and have blankets/warm jackets handy in case their vehicle gets stuck. Also, newcomers should know the possibility of power outages during winter or fire season. A generator as a backup power supply is a nice luxury, however it is not required by law. Otherwise, if one is not snowed in, then best to leave the mountain and stay with family/friends or at a hotel. It is also a good idea to have your food and other necessities well-stocked, in case one becomes “snowed-in.” Crestline is a friendly, relaxing place and enjoy nature, especially our lake but as the Scouts say, “Be prepared.”
