Here's what three local experts had to say about prices and the cost of living in Srinagar, Jammu And Kashmir.

One can expect very little pollution and fresh air in this city. Cost of living is also on the lower side. But the most important aspect of this city is that it is surrounded by picturesque mountains from all sides. making it a very beautiful location indeed. So i would definitely recommend this to people who want to live here.

know the people, types of food available and rest houses alongwith their rent. Knowledge about the places within the city, where someone wants to come makes the travel comfortable and entertaining. Above all the social values like level of honesty with which city dwellers treat the visitors should be well known to the person.

The commute is hassle-free, the health-care is affordable and the residency is inexpensive. In summers the place is not too humid and in winters can be a little harsh but the cold can be countered by adopting proper measures, eg warm clothing and better heating arrangements. In addition to this, there is beautiful scenery to go around and the place is almost pollution free.
