Chandannagar was a French colony during British rule. It is famous for the river Ganges and the strand beside it. From the strand you can view the picturesque beauty of the river. The city is also famous for the 200 year old church which was made by the French. Chandannagar has good communication by road and by the rail. It has a sub-divisional hospital, many schools for boys and girls.
