Champaign-Urbana, affectionately known as Chambana, is a college town. Catering to such a large international population means that there are multiple options for food and entertainment. From bouldering to wood carving, Champaign offers opportunities in both sports and arts. We live in an incredibly diverse community full of culture and excitement.

Champaign, IL is best known as the home of the University of Illinois, which straddles the divide between Champaign and its sister city, Urbana. As a college town, life and business are centered on the university, which draws students and academics from across the country and the globe. Champaign is an oasis among cornfields that offers big city amenities with a small town feel and pace of living.

Champaign is very flat. There is nothing but corn and soy fields. If you plan to move to Champaign, prepare to be very bored.

In the small university town of Champaign-Urbana, roughly 50% of the entire population is university students. Without the University of Illinois, most people wouldn’t call Champaign the greatest town ever. However, behind the thousands of acres of corn and soybeans, Champaign is known as a city of opportunities. Champaign-Urbana is a small town. However, with less people, residents of this city can be closer to one another. There are about three hundred to four hundred people in the town’s Iranian community.

there are many types of food to enjoy. The best restaurants are those that are off the beaten path. The next thing know, is that the University of Illinois resides within our community. This can make it seem busier around town in summer.

Champaign, Illinois, is a city built on small businesses. If you travel to Champaign you should try as many local restaurants, bars, boutiques, and general stores as possible. My personal favorite is Watson’s Shack and Rail. It’s my go-to whenever I have someone visit me. My favorite date night bar is Barrel House, and make sure you sit on the roof. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
