Carrboro is an old Southern mill town that is on the outskirts of Chapel Hill, NC and a mile from the University of NC. The town is charming, very walkable and is populated by educated people who like organic food and good breweries.

This town is fantastic, first of all. It has a solid transportation system, is bike-friendly, and lies in close proximity to several larger urban centers. The only downside would probably be the cost of living, which is moderately higher than other, similar communities. I have absolutely loved living here this past decade.

While Carrboro, North Carolina, is a quaint southern city, it has a bustling music scene and restaurant options that rival those of many larger cities. People move to Carrboro from all over the United States and the world, so there are always new people to meet and cultures to explore. If you seek a quiet southern town, you can find that in Carrboro or neighboring Hillsborough. Carrboro offers many opportunities of which its residents should take advantage.
