Tips for Moving and Visiting

Canillá is a small rural town in the mountains of Guatemala. In order to live here, you can’t be afraid of bugs; you need to be patient with either a dusty house during the dry season or muddy toes during the rainy season; you have to be willing to drive on bad roads if you want to get anywhere, including bigger grocery stores; and speaking Spanish is an advantage. If you are not willing to give up some comfort, you should not move down here.
