It’s located right on Lake Ontario, approx. 50Km west of Toronto and about 70Km from the border with the U.S. A number of festivals by the lake during the summer, including the world’s largest Ribfest every Labour Day weekend. A great place to visit.

Burlington is a very relaxed place, with a beautiful waterfront and lots of forested areas. Housing and rent are expensive, as it routinely appears in lists of the top places to live in Ontario. There are lots of amenities available and many good schools. Burlington is well known for the Sound of Music festival and Ribfest.

Burlington has been ranked one of the best communities to live and raise a family. The city has great family festivals year-round, low crime rates, and great employment opportunities. Royal Botanical Gardens is just one of its amazing attractions. Burlington offers major to transportation to Toronto and to the USA border.

Burlington can vary quite a bit depending how far one lives from Lake Ontario. Closer to the lake, the city is older; consequently, the homes are on more spacious and tree-filled lots, but are quite expensive. Further from the lake, newer housing is more affordable than in the older parts of town, but the homes are on smaller lots, and yards have fewer attractive trees.

It is a quiet city on Lake Ontario with beautiful downtown views. Most residents of the city are are seniors and new families, which makes Burlington a quiet and welcoming place. Its proximity to many other cities in the Greater Toronto Area makes it a perfect city for those who enjoy the quiet atmosphere of a small city while enjoying the proximity to other large and important cities.
