Bredasdorp, founded on the erstwhile farm Langefontein, was the first town in South Africa to have “dorp” as suffix and is at present seen as the economic hub of the Overberg. Agriculture and tourism are the main economic drivers of the area. The biodiversity of fauna and flora in the area is astounding, attracting interest in birdwatching, conservancy and outdoor living. Nature reserves and conservancy areas abound.

We are not a very big community, so make sure you are ready to make new friends. The crime rate is not high at all and even if sometimes a crime happens, the police are quick to respond and they do a very good job. A few kilometres off you’ll find a beach, pack some sunscreen.
