Blaenavon is an old mining town. It’s famous for its Mining Museum and Iron Works. It has achieved World Heritage Status, and has since become a ‘booktown. It’s surrounded by open moorland and mountains. The Blorenge is a popular mountain for walkers and local history enthusiasts. Excluding the mountains, there are plenty of local walks, there is also a lovely day out to be had at the Heritage Railway.
Blaenavon is a small, industrial mining town nestled among the Brecon Beacons mountains of South Wales. There is not a great deal in the way of nightlife but the people are pleasant enough and the place itself evokes a rugged, old-world charm.
