Birmingham is a hidden gem. We have a thriving music scene, fantastic restaurants, and many historic attractions. We also have a blossoming film industry. The city is currently building an entertainment district downtown which will serve as the hub for all of this. You should always ask the locals for ideas on out of the way experiences and fun things to do.

Birmingham has many places to visit and plenty of opportunities from education, theater, museums, camping, hiking and dining. UAB is on of the best medical schools in the nation and has one of the best hospitals in the southeast. College football is huge deal here (Alabama or Auburn). With all of the beautiful national parks, caverns and lakes you can enjoy camping, hiking and swimming. Enjoy dining out in one of our various ethnic food restaurants from casual to fine dining. When you visit Vulcan you will have a beautiful view of the city. Be prepared for hot and humid weather.

Move to Birmingham for the food. Frank Stitt, a James Beard Award-winning chef, opened his first Birmingham restaurant in 1982. Since that time, he opened three more restaurants and influenced a host of proteges to follow in his footsteps. That movement spawned an influx of award-winning restaurants that is hard to beat.

Birmingham is a great city in the state of Alabama. It is the birthplace of the civil rights movement in the United States. You can live the city life without traffic of other major cities and still be close enough to major parks and wooded areas. The restaurant food is delicious and plentiful.
