While the terminus of the commuter rail to Downtown Minneapolis, Big Lake is anything but a metropolitan community. Expect to take a short trip to neighboring Monticello for most of your shopping, as nowhere in town sells products like clothing or appliances. If you’re looking for relatively cheap housing with easy access to public transit you can do work on, there’s nowhere better to settle.
