Nestled beneath stony outcrops, and among conifer plantations, Betws y Coed is a rural tourist hot-spot within the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. In addition to the Victorian hotels, guest houses, shops and attractions a small local community quietly makes a living and enjoys the peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Previously a farming and mining community, many have diversified and found employment elsewhere, or locally for the tourist industry. Sited at the merging of three rivers, the Conwy, the Lledr and the Llugwy, it is an ideal location for water sports.
