Belgaum’s name has recently been changed to Belagavi, though the locals prefer to use the original name. We have one of the most highly reputed army training bases in the country. The major draw of Belgaum is that it is a mere 2. five hour drive from Goa. As Belgaum is near the Maharashtrian border, the cuisine here is a delightful mix of both Kannadiga and Maharashtrian specialities.
