If one seeks clement weather and plenty of water-related activities, a little-known town north of Seattle is the place. With hardly ever any snow, no tornadoes, or traffic jams, Anacortes is one of Washington’s best-kept secrets. For seafood junkies, fresh-caught salmon, crabs, and shrimp are in abundance as well.

Anacortes Is the gateway to the San Juan Islands. It sits beside Puget Sound. If you enjoy boating in any form, Anacortes is a dream destination for you. From sailing, to fishing, to kayaking, Anacortes has a rich maritime tradition; just keep well clear of the ferries.
