When moving to Amherst, Massachusetts, know it’s a college town. It has five different colleges within 30 square miles, and it’s main population is made up of professors and students. Because of this, the town is more populated during the school year, but it quiets down in summer. Also, the culture of the town is influenced by its academic and liberal population. Typical of liberal college towns in New England, it has progressive political and social beliefs.
