Amanzimtoti is a busy and friendly little town on the south coast, with beautiful beaches and plenty of fun, family orientated activities. It boasts a shopping mall which has an ice skating rink, ten pin bowling, and a Nu Metro cinema. There is a large variety of restaurants and takeaways, and the town is a mere 20 minute drive away from the famous Durban beaches, the Moses Mabhida stadium, and the international attraction Ushaka Marine World.

The most important thing to know is not to move here. This is an incredibly small-minded, really conservative town. There is not much to do unless you want to spend your days, in a shopping mall or the beach. I think the most excitement happens when it’s club or school rugby season, a sport I personally have no interest in. There is no nightlife, for that you would need to travel to Durban, which is 30 odd kilometres away. And this is why I am leaving.

Amanzimtoti has some beautiful beaches, but be warned, it can be extremely hot in summer, but the temperatures are moderate in winter. The people are also very warm, friendly, and welcoming. In addition to the beaches, there are malls and other options if the beach is not your cup of tea.
