Alice is a small town located in the Eastern Province of South Africa. The University of Fort Hare is found in Alice. There are nature reserves around Alice such as the Great Fish River. The town is surrounded by mountains and hills. There are no traffic lights, night clubs, or big shopping malls in Alice.

It is mostly a student community. Most residents are students learning at the University of Fort Hare. There are a fewer shops when compared with the other parts of South Africa. There is only one old people’s home. Currently in Alice there is no orphanage. Due to the lack of stores in the city, most people have to travel to nearby places for shopping.
