As a native born and raised in Nigeria’s young capital, I can say that the biggest mistake visitors or new settlers make is limiting their experience of the capital to the very small Central Business District. Abuja is such a peaceful, beautiful scenic town with cascading mountains forming a protective shield that gives room for inhabitants to explore the sights, sounds and taste of the city. Cost of living is considerably priced for city life and you will find that your expenses can be well managed on an average budget of $750 to $1500 each month for a family of 4. Housing is usually priced annually for long-term settlers. Business travelers have a myriad of hotel and short stay boutiques to pick from that can range from pocket friendly $40 to top of the range $150 – $250 spots.

It is a safe place with minimum traffic. Lots of restaurants with great food and schools near each district. Housing allowance is quite pricey and you need to have a job to survive the daily hassle. Electricity is not available 24/7 in most places but the city is mostly filled with nice people.

My city is a beautiful city with many tourist attractions, houses and amazing sites. It is a place anyone would like to live in. There are also a variety of restaurants with different foods like Kentucky Fried Chicken, Chicken Republic and Domino’s Pizza. The city also has wonderful parks like the millennium Park and magic land. It is a place anyone would want to stay in.

There might not be much to do here, but spending time with family is a major plus. The weddings here are a big deal, and for good reason–I’ve created some unforgettable memories at 10 pm on the dance floor. I highly recommend having a car as well because it really feels like Abuja is a spaghetti bowl of highways sometimes.

Abuja is a city where dreams come true. We are currently experiencing the raining season hence remember to bring a sweater. The Central Park, Silverbird Galleria and Magicland are top places you would want to visit. In this wonderful city, there is everything for everyone and you won’t experience any dull moment.

Food items are costly. Accommodation is very expensive. However, it’s a peaceful town. There are amusement parks and cinemas for your entertainment. There are also fast foods and restaurants in almost every part of the city. If you would like to take a casual walk, there are parks at the city center. Living n the city would surely be a great experience.

Living in Abuja, is almost everyone’s dream, however, transportation, housing and food is very expensive in Abuja. However, it is a very beautiful and peaceful city. There is constant supply of electricity, and their drainage systems are well built.

This is due to that cabs in Abuja take advantage of newcomers lack of familiarity with the environment. With time, transportation costs become less of an issue, as you get acclimatized with the city.

Be careful of theft and there’s lots of traffic, so be prepared for that. We have an issue with electricity and internet services. Not to talk of corruption, lack of jobs, poverty, etc. if moving to work, the salary is not worth the stress. The education sector is average, it should be worth a try.
